Footage Clearance for OPEL/PSA

Groupe PSA is a French multinationalmanufacturer of automobiles and motorcycles sold under the Peugeot, Citroën and DS Automobiles brands, and pending the completion of their agreed purchase from GM, Opel and Vauxhall Motors too.

Beginning in 2016, PSA began to outline a strategy which entailed the rapid expansion of the company, through both geographic expansion and acquisitions of other car companies. PSA has announced plans to enter the Indian, American, Canadian, ASEAN, and other markets in the coming years.

Headquartered in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, PSA was in 2016 the third-largest Europe-based automaker. Following the completion of the agreed acquisition of the GM Opel and Vauxhall Motors brands, Groupe PSA will become Europe’s second largest automaker.

Spark negotiated the footage usage rights for one of French cinema’s most famous scenes: Louis de Funes and Bernard Blier in the film ‘Jo’. The footage was used by OPEL to announce the merger with the Peugeot car group PSA on social media and the German and French websites of Opel.

The idea for the short clip comes from the agency Heimat in Berlin who asked Spark to negotiate on Opel/PSA’s behalf.
