The Best Brands Gala takes place every year in February in the ballroom of the Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich. Over 600 guests from the business and retail worlds and the media attend the event, which has become a firm fixture in the calendar as the most relevant German marketing award.
In a festive award show, the results of the complex study of GfK will be announced, honoring not only the top 10 winners but also the respective “Best Brands” of the individual categories. Awarded in 2019 were the “Best German Corporate Brand International”, the “Best Product Brand”, the “Best Growth Brand” and in the special category the “Best Digital Life Brand”.
The 16th ceremony on 20 Feburary 2019 was opened by the former President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso.
In the run up to the event Spark advised Best Brands about ideas for suitable keynote speakers. José Manuel Barroso turned out to be a great choice with the timely topic ‘What Brexit really means for the European Union”.
Mr. Barroso did a number of interviews to the media in the run up and on the day of the event. He was also involved in a VIP meet and greet and the champagne reception after the award show.
Spark was involved in the negotiation and agreement with Mr. Barroso for his speech but also handled all logistics in regards to the interviews and his keynote speech on the day.
