Spark was asked to suggest and pre-check songs for the McDrive campaign ‘A Long Journey’ by McDonald’s Germany developed by Scholz & Friends Hamburg.
The song selected was HUNGRY EYES by Eric Carmen from the movie Dirty Dancing.
The song fitted the scrip perfectly: a man buys a McDonald’s take-away at a McDrive. Once he gets the food he puts it on the seat next him. He instantly gets tempted to snack on it when he smells the food in his car. So he puts on the back seat, turns on the car stereo and HUNGRY EYES starts playing. At traffic lights he also sees advertising for McDonald’s French Fries at a traffic light. We can really see that he is struggling not to eat any of the food.
Next he can be seen at home with his children unpacking the McDonald’s bags and one of his children exclaims: ‘No French Fries again???’. We can see him looking sheepishly as he must have succumbed to the temptation on the way.
